The first U2Charist in the Charlotte Convocation was held at Christ Church, Charlotte, on April 20, 2008. The guest preacher was the Rev. Mike Kinman, executive Director of Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation.

Rev. Kinman has been Executive Director of Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation since 2006 and involved in the movement since 2003. EGR is a small organization igniting and fueling a big movement... a grassroots movement of connection and collaboration for creative ministry following Christ by heeding his call to seek & serve him in the extreme poor around the world. The structure for this movement is the Millennium Development Goals.
