It's come to the attention of the MDG Subcommittee that Congress is on track to cut poverty-fighting funding in the 2009 budget, putting the lives of millions of people who depend on our help at risk.
As a recent New York Times editorial pointed out, last year the number of children who died before their fifth birthdays fell to fewer than one million for the first time since records have been kept.
This is not the time to pull the funding.
ONE members around the country are sending a petition to the Senate asking that they restore that funding and uphold our promise to the world's poorest people.
